Project Artsakh - Rebuilding Karvajar

Project Artsakh aimed to gather funds and supplies to rebuild Karvajar’s Cultural Center in Artsakh.

Ararat Foundation’s late founder Fred Vartanians envisioned that the center would become the hub of Karvajar life, where children could take classes, adults could learn new skills, plays could be performed and more. He had also planned for the center to create new jobs for Karvajar’s citizens.

The project had made several strides toward completion, which included installing a new roof, updating the floorboards and reupholstering the theater’s seats. Unfortunately, Ararat Foundation has suspended this project due to the new borders established after the 2020 Nagorno Karabakh war.

Project Artsakh brought real benefit to the people of Karvajar and Ararat Foundation is committed to finding new ways to help this community in memory of Vartanians.
