Zorakan Project Launched
During the Ararat Foundation’s Gala Evening, funds were raised to support a new development initiative in the border village of Zorakan. These funds are now being directed toward a micro-grant program that the Ararat Foundation implements together with Sahman NGO.
As part of this program, we met with 26 applicants from Zorakan who proposed business ideas designed to create sustainable income for their families and contribute to the village’s economic development. Following a careful evaluation process, 6 promising projects have been selected for funding. The businesses based on these ideas are expected to begin full operation early next year, marking a meaningful step toward community empowerment and stability.
This initiative is implemented by Sahman NGO with the support and funding of the Ararat Foundation — and represents the first phase of our long-term commitment to Armenia’s border communities.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the donors of the Ararat Foundation for making this program possible, and to our dedicated partners at Sahman NGO for their essential role in bringing this initiative to life.
