Supporting Border Families in Zorakan

Representatives of the Ararat Foundation visited the village of Zorakan in Armenia’s Tavush region. This small border community is currently home to 33 families who have resettled near the frontier and are working to rebuild their lives under challenging conditions.

Despite the hardships, these border families remain resilient, hopeful, and eager to contribute — particularly in agriculture, where they bring deep knowledge and dedication.

Urgent Needs, Enduring Commitment

Zorakan faces serious infrastructure challenges. Roads remain in poor condition, and basic utilities are still lacking. The needs are urgent — and ongoing.

The Ararat Foundation is committed to standing with Armenia’s border communities, working to support, uplift, and empower families living on the edge — geographically and economically. Our visit to Zorakan is just the beginning of a long-term partnership.
